New "ish" to the hobby. Had tanks in my young days and now have an 2 ft and 4 ft tank for the kids.

Google helps me to get some info but found some good suggestions from here. Decided to stop lurking and say howzit.

    Thanks...will post some this week
Large tank is 5 weeks today
Taking up a lot of my time reading up on cycling and keeping my plants alive
Did a 50% wc today. Largest one yet on the big tank.
Platies looked off last 2 days. Doing better now

Indeed, always a good idea as MTS sets in.

Sooooo what is the idea with the 2 tanks? Heavy planted, bare bottom etc ?

Got some hygrophila difformis, ludwigia repens and java moss from an apsa member. Decided to rescape.
Added seachem flourite mixed in to the gravel, some root tabs an another light
