Hello, I just bought 3 hi-fin pangasius and i was wondering what other tank mates i could put in with them. If you know a list of species that can live with hi-fin pangasius please let me know:p Thanks!

Hi Anouka and welcome to TASA :)

You do know that the Pangasius can grow to over a meter in length I assume, so I hope you have a HUGE tank, especially if you have three of them.....

Generally speaking they are relatively peaceful species but don't keep anything in the tank which is smaller than it's mouth.

Yes, i am well aware of how big they get. They are great! I love watching them eat, they go completely nuts héhé! So you think the only restriction for tank mates are their sizes? Do you have any ideas of fish i could get?:p Thank you so much for the quick reply;)

:) How big are they now??? Apparently they are supposed to be social when younger but isolate themselves more when they get older. Yip, I'd still say that you are going to have to take their potential tank mates size into consideration (unless you are going to use the tank mates as live food :) ) What size tank do you have?

The best bet would be at this time is that the tank mates should be a bit bigger then them, i saw a vedio on you tube where the pangasius had is tank mate half way in its mouth and it was a pangasius just a little bit small than it
ATM i have to in may tank but all the other fish are bigger than them. They are social fish but are very affraid of you so dont make any sudden movements because you dont want them to jump out of your tank like mine did

Hi fin Pangasius should be kept alone OR with the SAME species of SAME size.

Depending on their temperament, they will try to swallow anything, even though it won't fit into their stomaches.
