Help

i have got some weird fungus or algea growing on my drift wood.What is it and what should i do.Is iS dagerous to the fish and plants

it is the stuff on the dark bit of the wood to right of the java moss

almost jelly like, it is browny white coulour
and it is spreding fast
please help

 

Have you recently put the wood in the tank? If so, this often occurs but is not harmful to the fish. You can either leave it, although it doesn't look very good, or take the wood out and scrub it off. Another option is to get a pleco in there to remove it.

i got it from a shop recently but it was in the water, but i dont know how long it was in the water.

 

No problem mc1 - it does look a little like urmmmm how to say this politely, okay you can't....like snot! :rofl: A good scrub will get rid of it, but it may come back so you'll have to do that a few times.
