help! need help identifying this strange substance

    I have recently started a planted tank and today noticed strange white fungus like stuff growing on my java fern
    what could it be? should I cut the leaf, leave it or treat it? if treat it with what should I treat wit?.
    tank is a fluval spec 5
    cycling still in progress

    It's hair algae. Just manually remove it
