are you refering to the red marks around the gills? if so, this is normal, as the are called Blushing Angels..... so thats normal

as for the white small spots, i have no idea, i had a look in my one book, and i dont see anything like that,

i am correct in saying that you are refering to the small white spots?

@Vez I think Stalker is referring to the black spots on the angels

@Stalker, It looks like you might have an outbreak of fish lice (Argulus).

It is a flattened, disc-shaped crustacean measuring up to 10mm in diameter. It attaches itself to the skin and fins by means of twin suckers and feeds on blood by inserting its sharp mouthparts into the body of the fish. the intense irritation that results may cause heavily infested fish to scratch against rocks and even jump out of the water. Reddened lesions develop at the point at which the parasite is feeding, and these may become secondarily infected with fungus or bacteria.

They do not often cause problems in home aquariums, although they may be found on newly imported fish.

I would look for a suitable treatment from the lfs and the recommended treatment is with organophosphorus insecticides, such as metriphonate which could be an included ingredient in the off the shelf treatments.

The Interpet Manual of Fish Health (Dr C. Andrews, Adrian Exell & Dr N. Carrington)

I hope this helps you out, but that is exactly what it looks like to me.

See if anyone else comes up with a diagnosis in the mean time....

Don't see anything wrong with the fish. It just looks like they are coloring a bit. If you look at pic4, the spots are the size of the scales and this makes me believe that the fish is just maturing. I wouldn't be to worried because my striped angel also has similar markings and is still doing alright.

    Hi Guys,

These angels are Koi angels and those orange and black markings are perfectly normal, that is what they look like.

Skye01, there are no symptoms of Argulus.

Are you referring to what looks like a hole on the gourami, I mean the triangular one and not the round one which is a nostril (not for breathing but for smelling)? I can also see this vaguely on some of the angels. That is hole in the head parasite, flagellate organisms, which fishes get if there is not enough vitamin C in the diet (check what you are feeding and get more greens into the diet, that is why you mom said that you must eat your vegetables!). That one small angel is a runt and has been poorly fed, the lfs should be shot for selling you such a fish.

I think that we have discussed treatments of hole in the head on discus threads. What you need to do is treat with metranidozole. You can buy this from a chemist. Use it at 7 mg per litre. You can buy 200 mg or 400 mg tablets and work out how many you would need for your tank. Crush the tablets between two teaspoons and put into the tank. This will make a big white cloud and takes an hour or two to dissolve completely. Do a 50% water change after three days and repeat the treatment. Be sure to remove all activated carbon from filters whilst you do this. Metronidazole is harmless for plants and for your filter and is a very mild treatment so this should work well. I also want to indicate that the holes on the head don't recover fully and get covered again, so this will not patch up immediately after treatment, skin grows into the holes and seals them, but the external hole remains, it looses that grey colour though. This disease is also not an immediate killer but progresses slowly, so if you cannot get the medication from a chemist today, you can get it tomorrow, and it will still be ok, but if left untreated you will start loosing fishes one by one.

    Keep us posted.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    Dirk,

Does one need a prescription for Metronidazole?

    Hi Reedfish,

Officially you need a prescription for Metronidazole, but the medication is actually so commonly used (and so cheap) that I normally ask my pharmacist and then he gives it to me without a prescription. That will depend on your pharmacist though.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

Thanks to everybody for helping out.

The big problem shown on the small angels, the red marks, is amonia that started to bad signs on the fish.as the fish is only been in their new tank for about two weeks, the amonia build up was very bad. Ve done a water change and added some stuff to remove the amonia and the small angels already started to look better. He said I must check the one gourami as it shown some white spots.

We made a critical mistake here and that is that we did not ask you to fill in the disease questionaire, this would have indicated to us immediately that we were dealing with new tank syndrome. It may still help us if you did fill that in.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk
