    Hello,

I just joined today. Nice to see we have a local SA forum on aquariums. I have been chatting on a overseas forum and have seen alot of local forums but with only 1 or 2 posts on them.

Its good to see we have a very active local forum where i am sure i will be able to relate better as most things especially products mentioned on overseas forums are not available locally.

Nice to meet you all in advance and hope we have some good chats

    Welcome Jwalker :)

Yeah this is the best tropical forum in South Africa. You'll find everything you need right here.

So, what fish do you currently have?

    Hi Everyone,

    Just a quick run down.

I recently purchased a 2nd hand 4 foot tank (complete setup) and i have already a 4 foot tank.

I am currently in the process of refurbishing them both.

In the 1 tank is just sword tails about 15 at the moment and counting , with 3 corys and 1 small pleco.

In the other is a rainbow shark, tin foil, silver dollar, albino pengasius & silver arrowana.

Not sure which i will be keeping and changing at the moment. Still deciding!!!

I am running an Aquaclear HOB, internal filter and fluval canister. Its my first time with a canister filter, so far so good.

Thats just a little of what i am busy with at the moment.

Here are a few pics  (Hope the pictures show)

    Hello and welcome..

Nice setup you got there but I'm afraid it's too small to keep arowana and pengasius.. For their potential sizes they require much more space..

    Keep that in mind..

yip i know, i got them with the 2nd hand 4 foot tank, hence still deciding what to do... the arrowana is really a beautiful fish and moves gracefully but way to big already for the tank.

i just want to refurbish the tanks and let them settle abit before moving any fish as it only been 3 weeks. Dont want to stress them out anymore.
