    Hello everyone

I'm from Goodwood in Cape Town. I grew up with live bearing fishes and it was always amazing to see the little ones grow up.

I started again with getting a tank or 4 :p about 2 months ago. Have a few guppies, mollies, swords etc.. then the usual like neons, balck widows etc...

I bought a lovely pair of blue gouramis and a pair of pearls gouramis also for my tank.

I had the gouramis in their own 60cm tank to see that they were ok to go to the main tank and voila the blue pair decided to drop me a few hundred eggs. I immediately removed the gouramis to the main tank and now sitting with baby fry in the 60cm tank. It's now on day 10 and the little ones is still swimming around. (Well at least over a 100 still)

I tried cultivating infusoria but had no luck in that wan also tried brime shirmp but probably got about 20 from all the eggs. What I'm looking for now is microworm as I think the little ones should be big enough to eat that now.

I don't know how the little ones survived so long but I think it's thanks to the 8 Apple snails in the tank.

Anyone that has any info or suggestions that I can do / try, it would greatly be appreciated. (nice.tropical.fish@gmail.com)

Nice to see there is also allot of people still going strong on Tropical Fishes.

    I'm looking at building my display tank in December. About a 1.5w x 600d x 800h

    Ewald

    Hi welcome to TASA!

Prof.Bellstedt on the forum should be able to help you out in the food dept. also a couple of sponsors on here that might be able to assist you..

    Congrats on the babies..

Hope you find what you're looking for..

    Cheers

You can also try frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms..
My cichlid fry seem to be doing alright with that sort of food as well as some crushed flake food..

    Welcome to TASA! :D

Yip, we sell live baby brine shrimp as well as all of the Profs frozen foods some which you would be able to use for your babies. We're also in Goodwood so if you want to pop around some time I'll also give you a starter of microworms. Send me a pm and we can work details out :D
