    Hi!
Long time lurker of the forum, and finally decided to introduce myself and get more involved!

I was planning on make a nice thread, with pictures of my progress over the last 2 months... and then my phone got stolen with all my pictures and videos on :(

So all I have left is this single image of around a month ago when the tank was running for a few week.

Since then i have upgraded...several times... Will see if I can get some glamour shots of my tank when I get a new phone/Camera.

Originally started out with a 50L tank and very quickly realized that I will be buying a bigger tank.
Fast forward a month, I got a 115L tank, my mother stole my 50L, and I upgraded to a canister filter. Super impressed with how good it works.

    My current stock is :
    8 Neon Tetra
    9 Zebra Danio
    Bristlenose Pleco
And metric S**t ton of snails.

Picked up a small 20L tank for R50 from someone and would look to experiment with some different substrate and grow some plants in there for fun, maybe even use it as a breeder tank, but that will all depend on how well the main tank performs.

Would really love to get a nice fancy Pleco since I am crazy about them, but they are quite expensive. So for now its only a dream.

    Well thats me!

    Hi, and welcome to TASA.
    That tank already looks nice.

    Why not try another Ancistrus.
They aren't as messy as Pleco's, and are not blacklisted.

Update your profile to show where you are located.
It makes it much easier for members to know where you are.

If you are close enough I will take all the snails you have to feed my Assassins.

Interesting... was under the impression that Ancistrus was the same as the Hypostomus plecostomus, but I stand corrected! Will definitely look into it more.
Regarding the blacklist, I then assume most pleco's are on the BL? Or was it just the common one.

User registration has a required location, which was filled in, but it appears it does not auto save to a profile... But anyway updated!

Actually looking for some Assassins snails myself, but not 100% sure on the law regarding them.

Welcome! That's a good size to get started, my first tropical tanks were 20 and 250l :p

The tank looks good, for the 20l you can breed danios very easily in a net with some plants or a spawning mop in with them. I'm using my one to try and spawn my glowlight tetras so it's certainly a good size for the smaller egglayers.

As for plecos, get another ancistrus and breed them! East to do and can help if you trade them for plants or cash ;)

Welcome. Many places sell assassin snails. Don't believe they black listed. Also there are some local breeders of legit zebra pleccos cheaper than imports. Also check some sponsors out every so often there are exotic pleccos pop up.

Was maybe thinking some Dwarf Gouramis at one stage? But first I want to let my tank grow in a bit.

Took a quick snap today with a crappy phone... Really need to get a decent camera.

Actually wanted to post an update a while ago, but life got in the way again...

Fast forward a few weeks, I now have multiple tanks *Faceplam*

    Alpha:
110L, the the main tank. Got a rescape and trim this morning, increased the flow, and did a deep clean as I was slacking the last week.

    Beta:
45L, Breeder tank that is cycling with a sponge filter, with a really nice piece of spider wood in that is currently soaking till I can do something with it...

    Gamma:
A 15L planted tank I am running some experiments in with only plants. High light, high flow, high ferts. No flow, high light, SNAILS!
Might actually use it to see if I can breed some Assassin snails in if I can get a few more since they are really way more beautiful than I actually thought.

Also bought 40KG of pool filtration sand if anyone in Fourways wants some?

Will upload some pics when the light is a bit better this side.
