    Hello All.

I have a 1.2m tank with an assortment of different kinds of fish in.

I am very sad to say I am getting rid of my freshwater tank. I have had it now for about two and a half years. Never had to treat it or anything. Has been running perfectly even when I moved it came back online after the move without a cycle or anything. I feel I have to get rid of it now as I have lost interest in it and don't want the fish to suffer just because I don't have the time to do the weekly water changes. I am focusing on my marines.

Please see the for sale forums. Got some interesting stuff. Will post there when I'm done here.

Just read the rules for selling and it looks like I will have to stick around for a while before I try to sell my stuff. Which is cool I understand why.

So just some more details about it to get people interested.

The tanks dimensions are 120x45x55. It has a built in compartment where 3 t8 light are being housed at the moment. I have a canister filter for filtration and two 800l/h power heads running.

Decoration comes in the form of quite a bit of driftwood and a few ornaments.

I originally set up the tank for two Oscars but they outgrew it so fast it was rediculous. They are still by far the best freshwater fish in my opinion. When I have a bigger house I will set up a 1.5m or 1.8m specially for two of them and start breeding. I was so sad to sell them I swear I almost cried.:sad2:

The livestock now is as follows:
    1 x Golden Severum +-18cm
    2 x Uaru (Triangle) Cichlids +-15cm
    3 x Clown loach's between 10 and 15cm(Pretty big)
    1 x Black Ghost Knife +-18/cm
1 x super-fat upside down catfish +-20cm (He is my favourite by far)
1 x tiny Green Terror who does not wanna grow.
    1 x little Rainbow Cichlid
1 x little Kribensis Cichlid (The meanest little fish ever. He chases clown loaches twice his size)

I know that it's a lot of fish but before I really got into marine tanks I didnt mind doing lotsa water changes now that I have lost interest it feels like such a chore.

My light's are on timers and the tank pretty much runs itself.(except for water changes) I use seachem Safe as Dechlorinator and no other chemicals are added. All my fish since small have been fed Tetra Prima which in my opinion is the best freshwater food you get. Every fish loves it and they all grow like crazy eating it. Every now and then I throw in some bloodworm and every second day feed some HBH moist spirulina pellets for the Triangle cichlids as they are actually vegi lovers but do eat the Tetra Prima as well.

I think that about wraps it up. I will post pics as soon as possible.

OK this tank is still running and have no time for it.

I would like the permision to sell it on this forum. As I am not into freshwater at all I don't really have any questions to ask or advice to give and it says in the rules I cannot spam my way to 20 posts.

Don't do it for me, do it for the fish. They are going to suffer from lack of water changes and proper maintenance.

    Please let me know.

    Steven

    Fishy Steve,

I would recommend you post your tank on Gumtree. 99% of the people on this forum do not take too friendly to people who just join for alternate reasons... something you have clearly done.

Gumtree is a free online classified.

Alternately, why not chat to your LPS and see if the manager is prepared to help you make a sale.

Well the reason I wanted to get rid of it here is because I have sold to my LFS before and they overpriced my fish. Meaning no-one bought it and they stayed there in the store for ages and then died after being in tanks to small and from improper care. And selling on gumtree I could get any retard buying my tank that doesn't know a thing about fish.

I wanted to sell it here because I could then get someone who is genuinely interested in fishkeeping.

If this forum is actually about proper fishcare then I would be allowed to sell it here.

I understand rules and I could have thrown around some comments here and there to get my posts up but was upfront about it. I'm a member on Masa which I think is kinda this forums marine "sister" where I spend all my time.

Plus I'm sure there is someone here that will benefit from one hell of a bargain.

    Fishy Steve,

Your intentions are noted, and I think I speak for all when I say we appreciate the care you taking.
I personally do not have any problem with the way you have gone about advertising your tank... I was purely voicing what other people are thinking.

I for 1 wish you all the luck with the sale of your tank. Your honesty is a plus. You could have conned us and then did the sale.

    Must agree.

If it was hardware that could just wait I would agree with the rules but if there is livestock that need proper care it is something different.

    Hope get helped Steve

The more people who come on here to sell stuff = the more potential cheap bargains there are for me to buy ;)

I do agree tho, show some consideration and manners as I think Steve has done

If I'm Standing on any toes with giving the price just delete this post.

At the moment in the tank is:

    1 Triangle Cichlid
1 Large & Fat Upsidedown Catfish.
    1 Kribensis Cichlid
    1 Leopard Pleco
    1 Ghost knife

I sold the rest that was in the tank to my girlfriends sister who already has a 1.2m

    Equipment includes:
    Tank: 1200cm L X 55 H X 45 D
Tank has black glass skirting around the top and bottom and has glass sliding lids with a light compartment inside)
1 Minjang 800lph powerhead with filter attachment
1 Dophin 850lph (I think) powerhead with filter attachment
    1 300w heater

Also the tank will come with all the driftwood, sand and ornaments that are in it.

    All for R500

Dophin 3 tray Canister filter is optional R250 (If you take the tank otherwise I will keep it)

I will post a pic later if I'm allowed?
