Heater and plants

Well winter is upon us and the cold weather is starting to cool my tanks so the heater went in yesterday. My question is... The heater is close to my amazon sword will it damage it and should I move it away or will it be fine it heats the water to 24 degs. I did my first trimming yesterday not much but finally enough to cut back a little. Thanks

 

Hey Snyper, I don't think it'll cause any problems with the amazon sword. In summer my small tank (the one with the amazon in it) reach temps of 27 and the sword grew fine.

I reckon 24 to be a good temp for the plants. Obviously some of them like colder, but we can't win 'em all 'eh.

 

as long as there is water circulating around the leaves it should be fine

Do you only use a heater in autumn and winter ?
What fish do you keep like this ?

 

I have silver hatchets corries rasbora scissor tails neons and hillstreams loachs it was very cold yesterday and dropped below 20 that's why I put it in. It keeps the tank at 24 then shuts off and then again wen it starts cooling
