I was reading an old thread on water test kits and decided on the one I wanted. My LPS is selling the API kit for R530, amazon.com is selling it at R150! all of the API stuff is cheaper there, and im a fan of API products, I mean Stress Coat R150 for 1.9litres of the stuff. Are we missing out here or is there some customs law thats gonna nail us for importing it?

I use a South African site called www.wantitall.co.za , they have amazon as a stockist, but all importing and taxes are done through them (all built into the price). I have used them for everything from specialist books to cologne and clothing - they tend to be slightly more expensive than Amazon, but the price covers everything (incl. taxes etc).

I do not know, I order stuff, then it gets here (most of the time it takes a week or two from the USA / UK)... They handle all importing, handling agents, taxes and courier costs. They often have "free delivery" for purchases over a certain amount.

You forgetting a couple of things. Like Shipping, Ad Valorum Tax ( In the region of 20%) and VAT. By the time you got it landed, you've probably saved very little. Thats if it makes it here unbroken....

If have a 18 month old Master kit i'm no longer using, can't see any expiry date on any of the reagants. Betta boy you can have it R100, check how much the refill packs are at AK

I have paid by card in the past... Neil, the cost on the site is the FINAL cost that you pay - it includes shipping and import taxes.

However the second hand kit is a fraction of the price!
