does anyone know where i can find such a thing in jhb?

Yeap - prof was the dealer at some stage .. think a similiar product is easy life's easy carbo ..

 

Alternate product: Microbelift Bio Carbon. (Amazing stuff.... if you can get past the smell... which is actually addictive too....)

Oscar... there's a few shops in JNB that sells Bio Carbon

You ask about Happy Carbo and I did supply it at some stage. I always use products in my own tanks in order to be sure that I can back what the producers say, and I found that it did very little for my plant growth. On inquiry to the supplier, I was informed that it would not work if the water that it was being dosed into did not have a high carbonate hardness. The carbonate hardness in the bigger Cape Town area is so low in comparison to Europe that this had no chance of working and in other areas of SA the carbonate hardness was still too low that it would have a chance to work, so I stopped importing it. There are other alternatives such as the microbe lift which I have not used, but which I have heard very positive things about. I am against flourish excel as you would see if you would search, I explained this on another thread.

Just my opinion on the matter.

Jungle aquatics carry it. Ferdie, I swear, once you have tried it, you won't try anything else. In my opinion, the only thing better than it is pressurized CO2.

 

cool thanks Zoom .. hmm sounds like Nicotine or Heroin, takes one hit ... new shop or old shop - was at the old one on the weekend ... seems to be running low on stock - maybe xmas rush?

 

Phone them both first for stock.

Sadly Jungle Aquatics ran low on stock as they were looking at relocating. So it makes sense to run stock lower than usual. The less stock you need to move the less chance you have of damage. The reason I say "sadly" is because the relocation fell through, and now they basically have to build up again. Imagine if you go there once, and your first impression is "geez, this place has no stock" and you never go there again?! But I'm sure they will get up and running at full stock levels soon... just gotta get those orders in.
