Hanna Instruments Testers

I found this on the Dr Foster & Smith website. Looks like you get differant testers for all that needs to be tested, even 3 in 1 testers too.

Does any one know it they are available in SA?

 

HI Stripes - yes they are - an expensive device but if I remember correctly there are cheaper versions available in SA - Hanna Instruments are represented here - so if you want to buy from them get hold of me if they wont sell to you..

 

What all does it measure?

 

I see some of them test PH, temp, nitrates exc.

 

That sounds good. Where do you get them or a sight where you can view them.

 

Yea - they measure just about everything we need - But individually - so you gonna buy a few meters at > R1500 a piece for the simple measurements and >2500 for the not so simple. I am recalling these figures from memory as I did an investigation a few months ago as to where to get the cheapest lab type instruments.. Hanna were not the cheapest but they are good instruments..

BTW instrumentation is what I do for for a living that is why I have the inside info on this stuff...

A general word of advice guys: DON'T buy hand held pH meters, the electrodes are far too insensitive for use in aquaria, particularly in soft water and they do not last long.

Rather buy a decent lab style pH meter. The Milwaukee brand is a good and cheaper option and I actually think the agents are also Hannah.

100% agree Dirk.. Pinnacle instruments do a lab style pH instrument that is the cheapest in SA. I will get the details and post next week..

When everything else fails try the Yellow Pages. Hanna Instruments in Bellville.

I visited them some time ago (and bought a pH tester), I found them friendly and informative.
