    Hi guys

I just picked up a Hagen Aquaclear powerhead filter from a friend of a friend who said he never used it. Now firstly it looks used but the guy is pretty clueless as to how it works or its application! SO I have brought it home and I am trying to work out how it works. When I initially turned it on it seemed to be on the 'reverse flow' function. I.etaking in water in the horizontal outlet/inlet and pumping down the vertical one. Now I would like to change the setting to normal flow but both the two flow adaptors seem stuck? There is a green slide and a yellow slide? Geex not even sure if this makes sense but I dont want to break the head due to my pure stupidity! Thanks guys and sorry if the question is laughable- but I can't work it out!

    Cheers

Well from what I see on the web page and the operations manual it seems all to be explained. But what would a person use a reverse flow for on a aquarium filter for I mean I understand a backwash function on a pool filter is to clean the filter but then in a aquarium why would you want to blow back all the dirt into your tank? :dontknow: There has to be some other sort of explanation for it having this function.

Looks simple enough. Yellow adjust flow rate. If the other tab shows red it is in reverse and if green flow is forward.

Yeah thanks guys! Prob is the damn thing is stuck on the settings as shown as per the pics. I guess the reverse flow could be employed on a reverse flow UGF? Not so sure I am keen on them though... although possibly a reverse flow UGF would work well as an 'extra' biological filter in a tank?

Thanks to all. iPWN- the hot water worked a charm- loosened the parts up enough for me to get them out. Then inside was filled with grit. A quick clean and now it is working perfectly again. Cheers!
