i have noticed on one (maybe two, they move so fast) female guppy in my main tank have some kinda thick, see-though-ish perpetual poop hangin out her butt, can someone please shed some light on whether these fish have some kinda butt-worm, or if its just the ever perpetuating poop of doom, or what?

Has anyone seen something like it before?

i'm pretty sure everytime i've looked at the tank since i got them, that whatever it is was there, she's got a dark gravid spot, is round and porky, so at first i thought, hey look, a gupp-let is hangin out, but i'm sure its not that.

I feed them flakes, and tetra prima, flakes usually has brown poop production, while prima results in a type of pink/red poop. so this translucent-ish thing shouldn't be poop

will work, besides its becoming summer, but if possible get a 50W heater for incase, ive bread 80 platys this year from 3 females. they will be available in the shop in a week or so

how many litres is that fry tank, i used a 15L and had about 60fry in there at a stage

if that guppy females back starts to arch remove her and put her in there to give birth

I have never seen it on any of my Guppies so I can't say if it is harmful or not bu Carl p is wright she is going to "pop" soon so if you don't have a container make sure you have densely planted corner in your tank were the fry can hide and hopefully survive, that is how I do it....

i guess its about less than 10 liters, not sure

height of water will be 20cm, sides measure 9cm... whats the formula for octagon volume?

i have planted the front right corner stampvol with bacopa, the front left cornet has alot of vallis but not that dense, then theres riccia floating uptop, and an area of pennywort as well, the hornwort hasn't really spread enough to be protective...

otherwise i'll have to start up that tiny octagon and place the preggy females in there or something... how will i know when its time?

lol, i knew i should have left the title as "guppy question" and not added poop, hehehe

i actually have quite a few females with dark gravid spots, from both f-fish and slayer's stock

Don't worry about it to much they breed quite often and as you have described it sound like there is a lot of hiding place for them.

i actually hope most of f-fish's fry survive, as they are just two net swipes from his pond i think, there are probably more colours in the coming fry than the males i currently have in there. some of the daddies of these fry are still in his pond no doubt, probably diff coloured from the males i have now. so the more who survive, the more variations, which i can then add to the 2ft

in the 2ft, all slayers guppy stock now resides, so they'll be the same variations as those currently in there.

can guppies live in an unheated tank, temp is stable at 21-22 degrees? (my room temp is 24 and up during the day.

i was thinking of moving that very small tank of mine
(octagonal, probably only 6liters size) into my study, but its friggin small and pretty useless at that size.

maybe put 4-5 guppies in it? but i cant even afford a stupid little 50watt at the moment. If they wouldn't be able to live in the cooler water then its fine, i'll scratch the idea

Yes guppies will live in an unheated tank - 21 degrees is fine. Use the octagon as a fry tank, small sponge or corner filter, and lots of plants. No heater required...

Just catch the fry in the main tank when you see them and transfer to the octagon. You will soon have plenty of fry. Try not to stress the gravid females, so do not think of moving them..

oh and btw, the female guppy with the tuby thing sticking out of her but, she's craping out of it, so i guess this fishy has some disfigurement where the anus actually sorty sticks out in a tube-ish form its almost 3-4mm long, friggin weird, web searches yield no answers, but its deffo part of her

HI Ferryman I have a small heater (25watt) laying around in my flat it it works great to heat up a 30 lt tank. Its your if you want it dude no charge.
Always better to keep fish happy so I am sure this little heater will do a great job on that small tank of yours

I leave my fry in the tank. I have a male and female guppy and male and female swordtail. The fry have survived had three sets of babys. I think it is like nature the weak ones are eaten and the strong ones survive. The tank is densely planted.
