sorry slightly OT here TM, but have you noticed how few types of green tropical fish there are out there?

off the cuff i think i can name only a few types:

    green tiger barbs,
    green puffer fish,
some type of green platys and swordtails now and again

does one actually get green guppies? i've never seen any..

Yip! GREEN . . . most wild types can be line bred to enhance the green.

Don't forget the green fire tetra and the green panchax . .

You're quite right about the ones you catch in the river - the last time I caught some, the females have no colour whatsoever, while the males were a nice bright blue and green colour, maybe just a hint of yellow with some black lines. Some of the nicest guppies I've ever owned.

Well . . the one guppy I found in my tank turned out to be just what i was working on when I was breeding them. Now to get some females from the same batch I gave to besh and strengthen the gene. It's a pretty sick wild guppy. It's really unusual and almost show like. .
