Finally my two gouramis are coming out from hiding. Just one problem, the
male is for ever chasing the female??? I thought it should be the other way
around. Any one any idea why they doing this?

Are you sure that they are a male and female? Also, my girlfriends Dwarf Gouramis would do this, and the male would occasionally build a bubble nest. i'm guessing it's mating behavior? Just a guess though. My Bluespots chase each other, but I'm not sure of their sexes. The one got really badly injured actually.

ya if the male builds a nest and you can see your female looking plump, they want to breed .

if its not a pair its fighting not mating on their minds

Well my female was identified from a few members. Male was giving to me from a LPS googled to tell the diff to dif a male. They are both about 8-9cm +- maybe bigger. I think they both are blue Gouramis

then yeah maybe they are courting . but if the surface has to much agitation the male won't be able to build his nest.

decrease water flow for a few days and leave them alone .
tell us what happens then .

    cheers

cool is it for a air stone ? leave your filter on .

only the air stone off if there is a lot of surface agitation .

when last did you do a water change?

In my experience, blue gourami males practically kill females in the tank if they are not ready for spawning, and even when they are able to spawn, the females aren't likely to survive. I find a solitary male in a community works best.

No air stone. Have a HOB and an internal pump (1000lph). Do a water change every week. Now only a 20% change.

Have had my female gourami for over 6 months. Male is new to the tank

    Back to square one!!!!

All of them now hide in this rock! When i turn the lights off at night it takes them 5 min
and they out and about. As i walk in they all just scatter, but then get used to me
    and carry on doing whatever.

When i never had the rock they were fine.....attachment maybe?

My question is could it be the light, rock, water condition(which is fine), snails lol Or just seeing me that scares them off?

    Hahahaha.

Seriously,Gourami behaviour and agressiveness seems to be a mystery.
Nobody seems to agree on the point raised.

It feels like a have an empty tank with just 3 snails. My guppies and mollies cant wait for
me to walk in the room, not so much for the others

    Maybe this will help
    Step 1
Choose a tank for your gourami that is 10 gallons or larger.
    Step 2
Fill the tank with dechlorinated fresh water and cover the bottom with a fine or medium neutral-colored substrate.
    Step 3
Keep the water temperature around 74 to 79 degrees F and the pH between five and eight. If possible, keep the hardness of the water between 5 and 35 dGH.
    Step 4
Plant the tank with cryptocoryne or other sturdy aquatic plants like vallisneria or java fern. Gourami prefer heavily planted and decorated tanks.
    Step 5
Feed your gourami a combination of freeze dried, frozen and live foods, like brine shrimp, daphnia, tubifex worms or blood worms. Varying your gourami's diet ensures balanced nutrition.
    Step 6
Clean the tank at least once a week, or whenever the water appears murky or becomes contaminated.

    Do you have any plants?

Here is what the tank looks like Link Post #44
    Excuse the stones....

    Tank is a 75l
They were in a 100l but due to an overload of guppies and mollies they had to take the 100l
