If things are doing well in your tank, then generally it is a good sign! LOL!

But if you have plants, are you adding any fertilizers to the tank? What fish have you got in the tank? What is the size of the tank?

A 3 foot tank is too small for malawis. But if you like shell dwellers, then a 3ft tank is the perfect size for a bunch of them! Some N. Brevis are beautiful fish for a 3ft tank. Lots of personality. Do a little research on Shell Dwellers. They really are cool little guys!

Shell dwellers are perfect for beginners or fish-keepers with space constraints. Give them a 10 gallon tank, enough shells to go around and watch them dig in...literally. All prepared foods are accepted and maintenance is minimal beyond harvesting their offspring.
This beautiful shell-dweller was found on the Congo coast near Kitumba

    good call
    dude you know your stuff
:thrasher: where do i get them

There are a few people around that breed them. I saw @Jack Stone had some for sale the other day. He might be able to help you out. You will need a fine sand substrate for them though. They dig, and they are small, so they need a small grain size for a substrate.
