I feed a few different varieties of Tetra food to my fish, (Angels, Cories, Whiptails, Banjo Cats, Apistos,Ancistrus). What do you guys feed, and what products would you recommend that are really high quality. I am not referring to any live or frozen food here.

I used to feed Tetra to my fish (kuhlis, guppies, danios, gouramies & a betta) but the betta doesn't eat it and the rest spit the pink flakes out. Since I've gone over to Prof. Bellstedts food, the fish go crazy for it.
The guppies are waiting for me in the mornings and evenings and the minute the gouramies see it they zoom and hap. Too cute ^^,

Also, Veegal gave me some really nice betta food (flakes) which Simon loves! He's eating from my hand now, where a few days ago he was too scared to.

ditto for the Prof's food. I've been using it for about 2 weeks and so far my fish seem to prefer it to the Tetra and Omega One products that I was feeding before.

Never tried the Prof's food, but my fish go bonkers for Tetra Prima. Excpet for my super-large ones or the ones which don't eat dry food, every single one of my other fish eats Prima.

I use 2 types of tetra flakes.
2 types of tetra bottom feeding pellets
    Tetra betta flakes.
Freezedried black worm (courtesy of Slagter)
    Flakes from Prof.
    Granules from Prof.
    Spirulina tablets from Prof.
    And then frozen bloodworm.

The problem is deciding which one to feed each time...!

I tried Omega One on my tank... the fish were not interested at all. It ALL floated, and eventually after an hour had to be sucked up.

Bought it again a few months later, same story. I know the stuff is good... but fish are too fussy!

Hikari make a decent food as well, using it for years.
I also manage to grow my guppies and swords to an impressive 5cm and 7cm respectively in a few months.

    your angels are carnivores:bloodworms.

your cories are omnivores:bloodworms and vegtables (flakes should also work for a while)

your whiptail is herbivores:vegtables (flakes should do for a whiule)(some whiptails are omnivores like the Red whiptail catfish.

Your Banjo cat is a omnivore:vegtables and bloodworms (they really like bloodworms)

most Ancistrus are omnivore:bloodworms and vegtables should do.

ask the guys around here to choose whic veg you should give em.

I'm actually right not watching an angel eat a plant so unless he is confused angels are definitely omnivores :p Their diet should include greens. I feed mine amongst other things, Omega One Kelp pellets.

I have a mixture of Tetra bits, Omega one shrimp pellets, Omega one freeze dried Brine shrimp, Omega One Algae wafers (for bottom feeders like Otocinclus, Corys and Sturisoma) and then as of late I've been using the Profs Gold Star Granulates No.1 (for Guppys and Apisto Fry), No.2 (for Betta's - Now sold on) and No.3 for my adult Apistos. I also have the Profs Breeder Flakes which are 10% Spirulina and 10% Brine Shrimp if I remember correctly??

I have to say from my experience, that whilst all my fish prefer the Frozen foods (also from Prof) they seem to prefer the GS granulates over all other dried foods, followed by the Breeder Flakes!! I only use the other foods now for the fish that are not catered for by the Granulates like my bottom feeders.... They would eat the Granulates, but the rest of the fish eat them before they get to the bottom, so other foods like the algae wafers need to be used just so they actually get some food!!

Still, Frozen is the best option if Live food is not an option!! The main problem with Frozen is that it can contain parasites and worms that are not killed by the freezing process, which is why I only use the Profs frozen stuff now as it comes from Germany rather than the east, so is of a higher quality and cultured in cleaner controlled environments!! So much less chance of contamination from parasites and worms!!

Sorry if I've waffled too much??
    Cheers
    G!

I generally feed a mix of most of the Tetra foods (and sometimes the Hikari stuff, esp the carnivore pellets, they love that) and my fish are more than happy. I also give them mozi larvae when available and I have 2 earthworm wormeries, its all me eel eats and its a nice treat for the rest as well.
