Golden killifish

Are these fish rare because I saw some at a lps in Strand. They were REALLY cheap.

 

Mr. Killifish South Africa (Tyrone Genade) is right on your doorstep, so I believe you are in Killi country and it is very likely that they'll be cheap around your area.... I got some of my first breeders from Tyrone.

 

i saw killies at our lfs for R160 each. they are so cool as they did not have time to evolve to their surroundings- awesome fish. i have only seen them this once in a lfs so where i live they are scarce.

 

OMG!!!!... at R160 ea..... somebody is taking advantage of the situation.... It must be remembered that these are annuals and they barely live for more than a year..... so paying R160, is a bit of a rip-off!

 

I doubt the guy I saw them at knows about fish prices because they where under R100( can't remenber precicly) They were about 2-3cm. I asked if they were rare because they were so cheap.

I have seen some on ebay 50 with a special tool to hatch the eggs with 20000 brine eggs and the tool for $20 DOLLARS and the export to any where in the world. I was also thinking of getting some

 

Saw some on Sunday at a local LFS in Boksburg. They were not that expensive. I didn't realise how small they are.

 

You must remember that these fish are normally sold as fry due to their relatively short lifespan.... An adult would be around 25 to 30mm. (slightly bigger than a full grown Guppy).
