going away

i'm going away for the weekend and as i dont have a timer on my lights is it better to leave the lights on or off?

 

I would say off. During the day the natural light will give them some of the light needed.

I think leaving the light on the whole time will cause discomfort and stress to the fish.

You will come home to some algea if you leave the curtains open but thats better than coming home to dead fish,rather keep lights off and let the sun bring light into the tank like TroyFish suggested,make sure it isn't in direct sunlight as the temp might rise.

 

Nah i dont have a problem with algae in my new tank just yet

 

I leave my tanks pretty much every weekend. I'd say better to leave the lights off.

 

Yeah but if your tank is exposed to direct sunlight you will get this problem

 

then i'm good cause the sun dont hit the corner where my tank is
