Hi Guys so i guess its time for an update been some time now and so far I'm happy with the result...just want to thank everyone for their advise and input on my previous threads.

Ok so after a long debate and pondering about what substrate to get, I forked out the money and got some Seachem Flourite Black and Sand

I cleaned the tank with Luke warm Vinegar water:blink:

    Added my Soil

    20160118_192232.jpg

Scaped and planted plants got all hardware hooked up and filled her up:cool: (No fish was added)

    20160119_070159.jpg

Started up all hardware and tested everything to make sure all was in order:)

Water was a bit milky for a day or two and after 7 Days looked like this

all was good or so i hoped , while admiring my hard work i heard some hissing sound coming from my tank (like an aerosol can spraying very softly --- and guess what my brand new (7 Month old never been used until now) C02 regulator is leaking ------

Took it back on Saturday and should have an answer from supplier by tomorrow

Made this Power box that fits under my home built stand and works like a dream

While was driving around i stopped at a LFS just to get some stock ideas and walked out with a Quad 39W T5 Light Unit for a steal (I think)....i think this should be enough light or what.

    Before (DIY LED Light)

    After (Quad T5)

    20160130_133106.jpg

Think this is way better and makes a huge difference.

Its been 3 weeks now and im happy with the results thus far , did a water change just now and all still in order , and my Mollies (Survivors of the Tank Crash) is loving the new tank been in there for 4 days now and seems happy ......

    Current Spec
    Std 3ft Tank
    Seachem Flourite
    Tetratec 800ex external canister
    Quad 39w T5 Light Unit
    Heater
    Plants
    Mollies
Ista C02 Set - Running at 1 Bubble per second
Dosing Seachem Flourish Comp and Scape K & Trace

Looking forward to all your feedback .....

Local rock looks good in your tank. Also like the mixed substrate That is allot of light .. but might work with the hair grass, since they seldom do well under DIY LED.

I like the powerbox ... keeps things easy to use.

Keep them pics coming, love to see growth progress.

Looking great under the new light! I'm a wood fanatic, so that catches my eye even more with the contrasting rock.. Good job!

You will need a lot more plants for that light.

Your tank is looking great. Looking forward to see update pics as it grows.

You have sufficient light, CO2, fertz, I can only see growth!

do you have a timmer on your lights, how long are on for a day?

if your moss grows well you'll have hiding place for your shrimps, then the fish intends to leave them alone. I've had discus fish with my shrimps at a time and even they couldn't get to the shrimps.
