I have come across glass/ghost catfish today and i could not believe that they are stocked here anyway i wanted to know how many can i keep. all my fish are doing fine and i dont want to overstock can i just get 2 will that be ok for my 72l tank?

Absolutely true what Henk says - if you keep anything less than 5 the fish will become very, very shy and may even refuse to feed. You'll find that the larger schools fare much better than smaller ones.

Another important thing to know about these fish is that they can be rather picky about what they eat. At first they might only accept frozen foods, only later adpating to dry foods.

They do not like tanks that have other overly active fish.

One LFS told me to stay away from them as they eat plants, but the plants in Henks tanks look uneated. Please tell me they were lying.

    Hey Big G
No, I think you're referring to Toshi from APSA. It was a while ago. I only remember the dark hair, lol.

They aren't suitabe to keep with over-competitive species, so try to keep to the more relaxed types of fish. Peaceful bottom dwelling species also work well with glass catfish.

why do you want to mix fish from two biotopes? keep SA fish and Asian fish each in their own tanks

    Warned about what?
Listen Henk: Wake up, put on some big girl panties, and realise that this forum does not evolve around you.
I think it's more like you with the attitude problem. I come here to ask questions and share my experiences, not to tell people how badly they are doing things.
We are all her to help each other. Not to run one another down.
If you have a problem with that, then you can PM me, if you have the backbone.
    End of story.
