Does anyone here keep these beauties?
I'm really interested in buying one, but I want to make sure of a few things before I do.
The info online differs, so I'm hoping to get info from someone who keeps them. (Yes I have searched, and I went through 18 pages of search, only to find Veegal & Zafgaks thread about the Ram babies)

Firstly, what temp do you keep their tank at?
How are they when alone? I don't want to breed, thus only want one male.

He'll go in a tank for 8 kuhlis and 1 male dwarf gourami... will this cause any problems?

Are they difficult to look after? Do they eat well? Are they timid/verocious eaters? What do you feed yours?

Apologies for all the questions [IMG]

    Hi Linxie,

I've kept Rams in my community tank before. They were pretty aggressive towards my Apisto's at the time, and I then parted ways with them and gave them to my sister. Send a PM to her (Madam) and ask her how her's are doing. I'm not 100% sure if they are the same Rams as what you wanting though.

Also get into contact with Dolphin, as he ahs these beauties as well.

Thanks Zoom... I actually forgot about your sis... going to send a PM to her now :)
I know I spoke to her before regarding the Gourami's/Ram's compatibility and that's all good.

Awesome... will chat to Dolphin when I'm ready.

Hi Linxie I keep a male and 2 females in my schooling tank. Temp about 26C and ph 6.5
They do get little at feeding time but eat very close to the surface.
I feed them a mix of veg and high proteien flakes.
They have the idee that when you bite a finger it gives you food :) so now when I do
something in the tank I get nipped by 3 rams. They are great little fish that quickly get a personality and bond to you.

    Get a little agro*

hahaha Vis that is too cute man! I love a fish with an interesting personality!

Thanks, I feel a little better about them now.
My community tank temp is at 26C and the ph is also about 6.5 (I will double check this though as the ph tests give me different results... I use 2 different tests)

Stunning fish, I recently got a breeding pair and they have been quite peaceful in the community tank thus far. My temperature is also at 26C and ph is 6.8 using the Mettler Toledo PH meter which seems to be fairly accurate.

    Thanks Wimpie!

I think end of this month I'll invest in a better PH test kit before I get the ram.
