    Hi All,

At last, someone has organized a fish-keeping training course! It’s unfortunately come to my attention a bit late, but I thought it’s definitely worth the mention. The course will be held next week Monday 18th Jan, and Tuesday 19th Jan.

The first day of the course will be dedicated entirely to tropical fish, and the second day will be dedicated predominantly to marine fish. The course outline is exciting blend of information ranging from the basics for beginners, to some more advanced topics for more seasoned fish-keepers, breeders, and store owners.

The course will be held by Mr. Derek Lo, in the Honeydew area. It will be hosted at his hatchery, giving attendants a chance to see his breeding tanks, as well as an opportunity to rub shoulders with other enthusiasts like yourself.

If you are interested, please PM me, and I’ll get back to you with contact details as soon as possible.

For those of you who can not partake, due to work / school, please PM me anyway – if there is enough interest generated, perhaps Derek will look into hosting a weekend course in the future.

    Cheers!

Yes it is. Maybe Dirk Bellstedt and the other experienced guys/gals can try this in Cape Town?

Derek is a good guy... He is always entertaining to talk to. I hope this kind of thing does take off, then we can start a fish keeping club or something similar... Would be nice to have some local "species" clubs. Like A Puffers or Dwarf Cichlid Club...

Nice idea... Please PM me the info as well Madam.

I also think it's a really innovative idea, and would love to attend a weekend course. I will, of course, keep y'all informed.

Just to give a heads-up, Derek may not always answer the phone on the first call - leave a message, and he's more than likely to get back to you. If not, send him an SMS - in my experience, he has always gotten back to me. He can be difficult to get in touch with (I understand, Zoom), but with some perseverence you'll get through. He does want to hear from you.

PM me if you're keen! I'm keeping count of those more interested in weekend courses, to give Derek some feedback.

That said, I think it would be awesome to meet some TASA-mates at a future training course!
