I am fascinated by the miracles of nature. Today we watched my guppy female give birth to over 30 fry. Sometimes 3 or 4 fish popping out immediately after each other. She was a fatty.
It is the first time that I have watched the actual live birth of guppies. Pretty awesome and amazing! :) :)

I have plenty of floating plants and moss, so the fry were able to hide from the adult quite successfully.

It was a good day today.

    :proud:

It is an awesome experience. Congrats! Now the trick is to keep them seperated from the parents, because they will ultimately chow them.

Thank you. :) :) and for the info as well.

I have removed the female from the guppy fry tank (3 ft tank) and put her back into the community tank. I suppose some natural 'culling' will occur in the community tank in 28 days.

I am keeping most of them to donate to a friends older son when they move house and he sets up his fish tank again - I'll give him plant cuttings as well, and some established filter material to help.

And if there are pretty ones, then I have some friends who are keen to inherit as well :) :)

It's always nice to be able to help others out, my friends in turn give me plant cuttings, so it's all good for everyone in the end :) :) :)

Congrats Pauline. Watching a fish spawn or give birth is something special. Good luck with the fry. If you need to get rid of some I have a GBR that is always looking for a meal:p
