    Hello all, just a question?
Is it ok for me to only feed my oscar frozen food?

I have found that by doing that, it keeps my tank cleaner for longer.
Was feeding tetra cichlids pellets, but makes the water dirty, and clogs the filter faster?

    Regards Ruan83

Some guys are complaining it is all their Oscars want to eat and crickets as well. It can become an expensive exercise though.

it becomes expensive as @wsteene said, however @Ruan83, very importantly, please ensure that you thaw the frozen food before you feed your fish :top:

feeding it frozen can lead to swim bladder infections - the gut passes real close to the paired swim bladder - not cool to have a frozen lump of chow lying there - many folk have lost fish due to this practise....

Look at mixing their diet with High Protein/Summer Koi Food... Aquamaster is a great brand due to it's high digestibility... Have found the Tetra cichlid sticks to be the same as your experience... Just feeding your guys one or two types of frozen food will lead to nutriotional problems later in their lives... the added vitamins etc. in a quality koi food can prevent this.

You could also feed frozen seafood from the super-market. Could work out cheaper.

I mince prawns, white fish and mussles all from the super-market for my fish. Freeze it in thin batches, and then break off chunks, thaw and feed as necessary.
