    Hey guys

I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I would like to get a freshwater crayfish for my 400l tank and i wanted to find out a bit more about them before I set out on finding 1.

So if anyone know anything about them please let me know, such as, what they eat, how big tank i should have for them, what fish they can be placed in a tank with, what type of freshwater crayfish i should get, where I can get 1 from and so on...

I was thinking of something like the louisiana blue crayfish...

Let me know, im really interested on finding out a bit more about these awsome creatures...

I would imagine we all would like some of those but as VIS said its on the Bl(and for good reason) and we are not allowed to talk about the unmentionables. I doubt that you would find it anyway.

Wow ok i didn't realize that... thanks Vis

I saw one in one of the books i have and thought it would be a nice edition to my tank but if that is the case then i think im gonna skip on that idea...

1 more question though, are all freshwater crayfish blacklisted or is it just the louisiana blue crayfish?

I did a bit of research before I posted this thread and I found a site where a guy is breading fresh water crayfish for consumption...

All freshwater Crustaceans and invertabrites are BlackListed, so none can be legally kept without a Permit in SA! As a result, we also do not talk about BL species in terms of keeping them, on TASA. We are trying to support the BL and look after our countries waterways.

    Regards
    G!
