Very proud this morning to announce that my Anubias is flowering!! My first little flower!

I seriously need a new camera but you'll get the idea.

Lol! You did and I was very tempted but my little one's upcoming birthday and Xmas short on its heals combined with December holidays got the better of my temptation!

The joys and responsibilities of motherhood...but I'm enjoying it every step of the way!

I actually have no idea. Will have to go and read up on it. Would be interesting to know what it's family to.

I'm just amazed at all the beautiful fish and plants out there - hidden for all intents and purposes yet so beautiful just for being there. It's a privilege to be part of preserving both fish and plants. Natural habitats are being destroyed faster than we can set up tanks or landscape a garden.

I've read with regards to the Dario Hysginon that I want that it should be kept with the intent on breading it due to its rarity. It's really a pity that all things beautiful are being destroyed by careless humans!

@Dinky and @lep2soma. It is in fact related to certain lily types. It is from the main family Araceae or more readily known as the arum family. The reason for the family ties is the flower it self which forms a spathe type leave around the spadix. Best known species of this family include the arum lily, peace lily and anthurium plant. @Double-D

Thank you very much, that's very interesting information. It's wonderful how nature comes together.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Anubias is a partial submerged aquatic in the wild.

    The flower would confirm this?
Looks like pollination under water would be difficult.
