    Hi,

I have posted the same in the new members section but figured I'll double post here as I am in serious need of comments / suggestions!

    "Thanks for the welcome guys.
Well, what a horrible way to wake up on a Monday morning. My "Flower Terror" managed to escape from its half of the tank and bullied my 2 Oscars so much so that they lost all their color as they tried and escaped from this beast.

I am so furious this morning and would have to make a call if I am to take the Beast back to the pet shop. I have never seen Oscars looking that bad. Their fins look all messed up and they are shaking their tail fins up and down!!

What a disaster not to mention what my wife thinks of this.

    So sad!

    Any comments / suggestions?

Some shots on the "Flower Terror":-

Uhmm - big cichlids having a go at each other is nothing new,but with the small amount of info you give us,can not realy give you good advice... Please tell us how big the tank is,how many other fish and what species...

Big cichlids CAN live together in relative harmony,it just takes a couple of territorial squabbles to sort out the hierarchy.... But if their is not enough space - there is no way one can achieve this at all...

O.K - just saw your other post....Unfortunately a 4foot just plain too small for 2 Oscars AND a Flowerhorn - best advice would be to return it...

No! No! No! I seriously do not want to return it! You sound like my wife!

.... I am going to get another tank, the question is, will the Oscars be OK with only half a 250l tank and the same for goes for the Flower Horn?

    Any other suggestions / Comments?

    Thanks.

Nope...3 large cichlids in only 250liters is a severyly overstocked aquarium.... Even with excelent filtration... I have always worked on giving any large cichlid + - 150liters up just for itself(some guys go up to 250l per fish)...

If you are willing to do lotsa waterchanges to keep the nitrates down, yes - a short term sollution would be to secure your devider and maintain them like that till you acuire the new tank for the Flowerhorn... But think of it like this in spatial terms... You are trying to keep 3 Rotweilers in the space equivalent to a small bathroom - somethings gotta give at some point - as your poor Oscars have found out already...
