Floating Island

Just go and have a look at this.......quite creative to create a floating island

 

i saw it the other day and have been wondering how its done

 

must be a bottle with subsrate and moss on it...

 

That has to be the coolest tank i have ever seen...

 

One of the coolest... Definitely.

I still prefer Takashi Amano, Tomm Barr and Fluo's tanks more though.

Very interesting ,,, would be interesting to see a step by step guide on how to build/grow one.

 

I would imagine that it's fixed to the back of the tank. Meaning it's just a glass sheet or box attached to the back pane and then planted. Could even be plastic mesh filled with substrate to allow the moss and plants to root to it.

It would be impossible to get the bouyancy correct to allow an island like that to float in your tank.

 

Spot on Whipme ... bouyancy would be a problem.

I think one should not underestimate the photography in all these tanks. I have seen rather dull tanks look awesome in pics with lighting etc. Very cool though

Ive seen these in Taiwan. Its basically polystyrene painted and planted.. Theres a thin fishing line attached to some sort of sinker
