And he started off with one floating pot and now he has 3. Hopefully he splits them up again and makes 6 soon... Or 9 if my math is correct...

As I understand, HC requires a tremendous amount of light....you are trying to grow HC by bringing it closer to the light, am I correct?

@Zoom - HC is short for Hemianthus Callitrichoides, a excellent plant for the foreground which gives you that lush lawn effect...but it requires a lot of light

How many watts per litre is ideal for a lush HC carpet? I currently have 40w in my 25l nano. I've got glosso starting to grow but prefer the finer leaves of HC.

You don't need more than 2 watts per gallon to achieve growth, but the more the better and you would also require heavy fertilizing and CO2 for a lush carpet of HC.

Here is a nice forum dedicated to growing HC:

HC will grow under medium light, but prefers high light.
It's just very hard to get hold of.
I got a pot 2 years ago for a 50L tank, but I lost most of it through neglect while building my house.I have a gloss carpet in my tank so I thought this method up so that I can carpet my 50L again.
