Ok, so on this cold christmas day we are sitting on 15 degrees.

    Cant believe this weather...

But my fishroom is still very stable and heater still turns off alot...

Im impressed. Tanks are 2 degrees warmer than usual so i have to twig it a bit and ad circulation in the room.

But its handeling the cold very well...

Nice, yeah the cold snap was a bit of a surprise. Good to hear the room and tanks are retaining some heat - this will be key when you hit the 0's - check and double check for drafts, circulation may just cause more heat leakage if you have a draft or direct metal to outside world surface contact.

BTW to be sneaky .. you can change the light cycle of your plants to a degree.. i.e. run the lights during the night - then they act as room heaters at the same time. In the past I have found that starting the cycle at 02:0 helps to get over that bitter 03-05 morning chill.

    Thanks for the comment Ferdie.

    You got a point.

Talking about lighting, i must still sort lighting above all tanks.

I must also decide on a final rack and plants...

And do the last of the sealing by my door...

Must also get 3 more 1.5 ft tanks and get 2 more 3 ft tanks repaired.

Still got a lot to do

    Water aging bin.

    Holds 220 liters.

Also bought a 2000 liter pump for it and a 120 mm round air stone.

Decided to age water is better.

Bought clean and painted these 4 ft tanks.

    Nice size for grow outs.

Looking for big blocks of sponge to fill up chamber 1 in the sumps.

Also need to buy more media

@Fishlips I saw your comment earlier about the greenhouse with tropical ponds. That has always been a dream of mine to have a large greenhouse set up as a tropical scene with ponds and a river system. As a youngster my uncle used to grow orchids in a greenhouse which took up half of his big garden and it always felt warm enough in there to keep tropical fish without extra heating.
We are waiting now for the fishlips-greenhouse-build thread :D

I havnt updated here in a while, but fishroom is still running nicely, and even for an outside building, its taking whatever narure is throwing at it.

Even with this weekends cold front we were still good. Heating the room wasnt a problem, but the costs is lol but im working on a few plans to lower costs too

Ok, so we went down to -3 this morning. Fishroom is running just fine without any problems.

Heater is working though, wont lie about that, but temps seems good. But ja, always room for improvements.

But im on the right path

-3? Eish at least you have heaters, my oil heater is only working at half power - one of the switches stopped working, need to look into that and see if it's worth repairing.
