Hey everyone.

Due to the massive amount of work I have over my head, and knowing that it's only going to get worse as the year goes on, I've decided to sell off quite a few of my fish in order to make my burden a little lighter... hopefully my plan will work.

I am only willing to sell to people living in the general Durban area. I'm not willing to ship and the buyer will have to pick up their fish. Please PM me only if you're an interested buyer. I will accept only cash offers.

Fish will only go to buyers who have 20 or more (non-spammed) posts.

The prices offered here are negotiable - I don't want to rip anybody off but I'm not willing to let go of these fish for much less than what they're worth.

Also, given sizes are approximate. I haven't netted the fish out to get precise lengths in order to avoid unnecessary stress.

Hi Salmon

What do your Africans currently feed on? may be interested in these if my new tank comes through.

What other fish are you selling apart from these as i'm looking to stock my soft water tank at the moment.

Right now they're on a staple diet of pellets and flakes, and are occasionally treated with frozen bloodworm. Every now and then I'll also manage to catch a fly and treat them with that as well.
In the past I also fed them crickets - the same kind you'll buy from the reptile department from your LPS.

Later I'll be selling some larger cyprinids, large-ish catfish and some other oddities, which might be right up your alley if you're into the bigger kinds of fish.

He's a really greedy fish! Often he'll eat so much that his stomach noticably bulges, and will still be begging for more!

Bump - and also the Mono really needs to go. The moray has actually started to swim to try and catch him. I don't have any other brackish tanks to move the Mono into, so he really needs to go quick. The price is negotiable.

Here's the rest. A lot of these fish do grow to fair sizes, so I do recommend that you seriously think about taking a fish before buying. All other fish are still for sale.

Salmon I'm away on conference but will take the Hoplo's and the Hybrid Synodontis... I may take the other synodontis but need to chat to you about their specific needs and their compatibility with my current fish.

Hey Kiazer, if you want we may discuss it here so that other people may also know about the fish if they want to keep one too. What exactly do you need to know about them?

Hoplos and hybrid Synodontis sold to Kiazer then.

Thanks Salmon, i'm moving into my new flat this weekend so will be able to collect once the tank has settled... my questions relate to the fact that after doing research on the other syno species you have that they are seemingly not compatible with each other? is this the case or have you kept them in the same tank. i would also like to know the ph at which you kept your hoplo's and syno's so that i cant match them to suitable setups. thanks

Synodontis species, in general, don't always get on. In most cases I'd recommend only one species of Synodontis per tank, unless the tank is of a fairly large size. The Synodontis hybrid and Featherfin both live in the same tank (5x2x2 foot), and only rarely bother each otherm usually in the form of a short chase. They get on well with other fish.

The pH which the Hoplos and Synos live in is at about 6.0 - 6.5 (my test kit isn't precise).

Cheers

Hey, just bumping it up here. All prices are very negociable, and I'm willing to give discounts to those who take multiple fish.

Hey guys

I hope this doesn't really count as a bump, but I got thinking. I'm dropping the prices of the following:

3x Convict Cichlids (1 breeding pair, 1 'spare' female) with free Firemouth cichlid - R90

Mudskipper - R90

Senegal bichirs - R100 and R140

Apollo Shark - R160

Silver sharks x 2 - R160 for the two

Hoplo Catfish - R140 for the two

Half Banded Spiny eels - R100 for the two

Cheers

Thanks Salmon, they've settled well and are already eating everything that lands on the tank floor!

Awesome tanks btw, love the brackish tank
