Thanks for the photos. My Buenos tetras were not happy with me feeding them marrow. In the other tank, the shrimp, Cory's and Serpeas loved it.

Small update on the 1.2m tanks regarding tank and and filter. A custom tank will also give me more water quantity. These dimensions will allow for 486 liters full volume of water with sump and 432 liters without the sump. Obviously substrate and hardscape will cuase for less water capacity.

It will now look like this with the sump on the side. I saw a tank like this a couple of years ago and thought it was a brilliant way to save space.

As @Barry Roux and I discussed earlier, minor changes to the sponges etc. will be made.

I drew this up so the guys at Marine Management Aquariums can give me a quote on building it. I'm still waiting for the quote though.

Sho, being a draughtsman clearly has it’s advantages! Very impressive!
I am clueless when it comes to DIY so not making any comments on the feasibility of things, but impressed by you gathering various tips from the experts and drawing up designs. Just take your time so that you don’t become overwhelmed etc. it’s a marathon, not a sprint :) take your time to savour things, think it through etc.
Love following the progress and think it will look stunning! Will never have my own fish room so living through others like you. Think it will be amazing

Wow, thank you for the nice message :)

The drawings are for illustration purposes only and so all members can follow what I'm actually planning. I guess a picture explains a 1000 words. It just easier than explaining in the end.

My biggest issue is I'm very impatient and I want things done straight away. So I'm trying to slow down a bit and take one thing at a time but I find it very difficult.

I also don't want a thread that's standing still and not showing progress, even though I haven't even started with any construction.

I also thought around there about. There's also the option of building it myself but I don't want to venture into building my own tanks. I can also make the sump a DIY HOB kind of thing with a overflow box, made out of acrylic.

Cool. You’re not doing realiity TV and I reckon nobody expects anything to happen in a flash. That should be the last of your concerns. Do what makes you and your fish happy, at the pace that makes you and your fish happy

Ok, for you guys who doesn't know my 120l planted tank.
    DSC_0273.JPG
This tank will be replanted tonight. I am not happy with some of the plants arrangements and how some of the plants are growing because of where its planted.

That piece of wood will definitely be moved as its the biggest cause of dead spots in the tank. Some plants will remain in this scape, some will be removed and some new plants will be reintroduced to this tank. I just can't stay away from the jungle / nature style scapes.

This will also sort out my water circulation issues and I will get better results out of the CO2.

This tank was a big learning curve so now I know better for next up-and-coming tanks!!

It looks so nice though!! Pity it's giving issues..
But I'm sure once you've rescaped it, it's going to look amazing again!

Tank was replanted last night, wood removed and about half my plants and I'm not happy with the final results, but anyway let's see what it looks like once everything has grown in again.

Water circulation is a 100 times better and my fish are all over now. Not just in the front.
Shrimp count is at 24 and 8 with eggs so they are all doing good.

I have a large bucket of plants for the next scape and 3 pieces of driftwood if I decide to do another planted tank.

Just received the quote on these tanks. R6860 each / R27440 for 4 tanks. I'm sure I can get this done on a cheaper way.
