Fish ID please

    Saw this at a LFS but the staff could not tell me what it was. Since they are kept with reganis I would guess that it is some kind of Tanganyikan cichlid.

    from the body shape, I think that is one of the Julidochromis species....

    Edit:..... Yes...... Julidochromis Regani..... Beautiful fish from Zambia.....

    Julidochromis regani or Julidochromis ornatus, But I think more ornatus

    Look like Neolamprologus Brevis Or Neolamprologus Multi

    It's a Neolamprologus multifasciatus. It's a shell dweller. Smallest Cichlids that exist so far. They are Tanganyikan

    I might be wrong . . .

    There is no significant striping on the body and the outline on the tail looks like a Brevis.

    There is a faint spot behind the gill. This indicates that it is indeed a Brevis

    So I'm changing my answer to Neolamprologus Brevis

    Well actually its brevis sunspot......and you can take that to the bank.also a shell dweller good addition to a tank,mind you extremely protective over a shell that he chooses.there are males and females in there

    Big thanks to everyone who took the effort to respond. They are indeed N. Brevis and I will be getting them in a few days once I have a tank set up for them. Does anyone have experience in keeping them? These will be my 1st Tanganyikans and also my 1st hardwater/high pH setup.

    Again, thanks for the input. :)

    Yes I have had them for a few years,last 1 has since passed on currently have neolamp.multifasciatus as my only shelldwellers,
