    I could be wrong but to me looks like a Dimidiochromis compressiceps

    i was given it with other malawi cichlids, they are all young. is this fish fine in the tank with other malawis? i noticed that 2 fish have died ( was very upset). i didnt know if this was a malawi so i have removed it from the tank. there has been no death since. could it be from this fish?

    @lyndon malawis in general are agressive by nature, i would not pin death only on the compressicep unless the other fish are smaller then it is possible, i would say that the deaths could be because of terittory , compressiceps are predators and if the other fish in the community are smaller then it could be the compressicep.
