if it's anything like snakes that are blacklisted, you can literally do nothing with them. not keep them, not destroy them, not transport them, not sell them... fun times.

so i did some quick research and i have made a mistake, i have japanese killifish. Still the same fish but they have been genitically modified to glow bright green. the thread i found the info on said "natcon would not have cleared it in any case for the major fish wholesalers importing these now...said with they all males and they sterile gm so I doubt there's any risk involved..." in respons to somebody saying they were blacklisted. i bought my fish from Jungle Aquatics and they posted the thread where i found the info

    rice fish = killifish.

@DewaldC, where do we get an official (as possible) list of this stuff. I've searched Oryzias Latipes on the forum and come up with nothing.

I have a stupid Question, aren't you worried that the tank will crack on that heat pad due to the heat?
I know it is a stupid question but I would really like to know because it looks like a good way to keep those small tanks warm. and I have a few of those small tanks.

I'm not too worried about the tank cracking because it has water inside it which keeps the glass at a low radiant heat meaning there is a very low chance of cracking as song as there is no drastic change in temp. The change in temp needs to be slow and constant. You can achieve this by leaving a small gap between the glass and the mat so that the air around the mat has time to isolate the heat and transfer is a lot better.

What did you use to space between the wood at the tank? is its thickness?

I used a spacer that you can find at any builders. Its a foam strip that is used to seal doors so air does not get in. The one I used was called "foam sealing strip". The dimentions are 3mmx20mmx3m. The foam also allows insulation for better heat retention
