    Hi everyone,

So I've recently started getting into planted tank setups. I'm currently working on getting a 350L planted tank set up, but in the meantime I've experimented with my 2 smaller tanks.

I started with my 30L tank which I turned into a betta and shrimp tank - substrate is fine black gravel and PFS in a path style. Planted some Hygrophila Difformis (water wisteria) and water sprite that was already in the tank. I also have some sort of grass that I pulled out of a river some time ago, but I dont know what it is. Then also planted some Bacopa Cariliniana and Roseafolia (I know for this one I'm going to need to add root tabs). So far I havent dosed any ferts and im not running any CO2 and I've been getting relatively decent growth on everything.

For fish I have 1 crowntail betta named Chris, 5 red cherry neocaridina and 3 blue dream neocaridina, 1 pepper cory (unfortunately the other died), 1 baby molly and 1 bristlenose pleco.

Tank 2 is my 60L which I rescaped last night. Sort of a beach composition with river gravel and PFS as substrate with river rocks and a piece of mopane for hard scape. The plants are the same as in the 30L except there is also some, what I think is, Bacopa monnieri (moneywort) which is not doing so well at the moment. So far I havent dosed any ferts and I'm also not running CO2 on this tank

For fish I have 3 rosy barbs, 3 danios, 2 guppies, 2 mollies, 2 bronze cories and a bamboo shrimp.

Let me know what you guys think of the tanks and what I can do to improve them (other than root tabs, liquid fertiliser, etc).

Thanks LV. I'm going to get some root tabs and liquid ferts this weekend to put a bit more nutrients into the water column and substrate. I can see some of the plants are struggling a little.

Yup, I'm loving the look of these 2 tanks now, especially the little one. It sits on my bedside table and it's very tranquil to watch before bed .

These just make me look forward to getting the big tank running even more...soon, very soon!
