    So i took a little 15lt tank i had.
    Added some garden soil/sand.
Two plants the was potted in a shrimp tank.

Let it mature and see what maintenance is required. those are heavy root feeders and you will destroy the tank once they have taken and you want to move them.
Keep the pics coming lets see how they grow.

I dont think it would be a problem with the plants but Im not sure about the seeds... @f-fish ? your advice?

But the tank does need to cycle before adding anything

Thats the other thing.. i dont have a decent filter for it.. only pond type pump with some gauss on it to clear the water..

Temp control is also a bit of a problem. We some days have high temps in jbay causing 30 + in my garage (low roof no insulation).. other 3ft seems to rise slightly above 26 when its hot. But this small tank will surely rise much higher..

First get the jungle going before you add any livestock.. if it is the eBay ground cover stuff they are not aquatic and will look OK for a few weeks maybe even months but will need removal at some point .. for now let it make the sprouts and first few leave till it either dies or get very leggy as it races to the surface.

Very nice .... if they are true to type you should have a full carpet in 2 weeks time.

Another week passed.. some pots made it in to the tank. My assasin snails laid some eggs on the pots in my shrimp tank. Moved 2 snails to my comunity tank and the other 2 stayed with the shrimp. Moved the shrimp and ornaments and plants to a new smaller tank. Had very bad green water in their tank so now trying to get it all cleaned up. 6540ff2248c6c381553db61e2dfa2631.jpg

I have also tried my hand at live plants and some are easier than others. Do your research on what is easier and what are more difficult. I have lost some and have some that are thriving.

I supplement with Seachem Plant Fundamental pack 1. Its easy and has what is needed for plants.

Nice ... good growth for 18 days ... considering you relying on surface agitation for CO2 atmosphere balance.

    Thanks..
The small seeded plants seem to uproot them self..
The shrimp does well, seems to lose colour due to the light gravel.
Used a glass planeria trap with great sucsess caught most of them..

Yeah that makes sense - they are not aquatic AFAIK .. or if they are they are stems that need to be replanted or crazy trimmed.

These pics from an LFS in Kota Kinabalu

    it all starts good.

    QWLXD9KYBgEQZLpXMfvhJ7k_O2rCDpIASBBQqVsXTXb-F9gdEwaXuLbV_Wm9_POGeAJS2Uv62e7eYG_lw=w2200-h1238-no.jpg

    over time

    6dK99roCMdk4kWgGKF28uUYp4U4j1HmJ_R6xwRrjX3q5dtB6egrBSOMk-0orzEZmuK4xgG8CdU_11FwPg=w2200-h1238-no.jpg

and they use dry start method ... with loads of seeds

    IqbDOmEjgCOHlA6BMCPreeaDTHuOFHoWihY7-qqmPEFOUuDwtQGdKmxbwDwjlFi9tDFual42hBmMRlmew=w2200-h1238-no.jpg

Then just do loads of cutting.

Had a conversation with one of the guys that does tank maintenance .. says clients love it since he needs to rescape the tank every few months and then it is something new to look at.
