I have 7 Golden angels in a 300 LT tank and they are constantly fighting ... not really hurting each other but is there maybe a reason for this ?

    Hey @Reaper....

Coupla Questions mate.... Had your seven for a few months now? Grown a bit from the time you got them? ---> Angels are cichlids and I think these guys are just "testing" each other out for an potential mate.... You should be hearing the pitter patter of tiny fins soon....Congrats,start stocking up on the cigars!

O.k ... bit young for breeding, but this is all part of the pair selection process... your guys arent quite babies anymore - think of them as rambunctious teenagers, testing the love game out for the first time...lol + they ARE Cichlids, and a certain level of agression is inevitable...

If you want to stop angels from fighting you must watch the temperature. If it is going to 26C and higher they will fight all day long. Keep it 25C or below and they will be much more peaceful. You will not be harming them at all by keeping them at this temp, they can then grow out properly and when they are large enough they can pair off. Once they pair off and you have a lower number such as you have in the tank, all hell will break out, because they will then try to occupy territories and they will fight very aggressively for these territories.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk
