Anyone going away over the Festive Season?
    Where are you going?

I am off work for nearly 2 weeks.
Going to be a very dull time trying to keep myself occupied.
Due to the Covid restrictions, very limited to what we can do, and who we can see.
And on top of that, the worst of winter will be settling in.
So I imagine there will be plenty of time in front of the tv, reading etc.

Work, work work, In the Dairy industry we get busier this time of the year as most people go away there is a huge surplus of milk as the dairy cows don't know its holidays;), so we turn all that excess milk into cheese...22 000 litres a day from round about 15 Dec to mid to end Jan..

Also working - company has enforced leave between Christmas and New Years unless you have work at a client. I suspect i'll be taking the leave, as the client i'm at always slows down over that period too

My brother and his family (from Pretoria) will be with us for 3 weeks
Would be interesting to see what holiday in CT means for them this year...probably lots of G&Ts around the pool

Side note: folks in CT are way more serious about masks than Hazyview

@GaryG your job sounds so fun haha

I will be heading to Abu Dhabi this week. Will return before the festive season and go somewhere else for the Christmas and New year time, then back to work on the 3rd

Sounds like this will be a relatively low key Festive Season for most people :(

Sorry to hear. My family who are in Birmingham came to the UAE and then the stricter curfews came into place. Wonder if they would have issues coming back.

Maybe in these two weeks you can start a new tank

Well....on Saturday our prime minister brought in stricter COVID measures and cancelled any sort of Xmas social interaction. His justification is there is this new COVID strain spreads easier.
Apparently this strain has been doing the rounds since September, and is found in many countries round the world.
But the net effect that many countries have closed their borders to us. I think about 40 so far. It all depends on what the UAE policy re this will be.

I have an agreement with the Mrs. No more tanks :(

Yeah I believe it's being called covid 20 and South Africa is suffering the same. It now has 3 stages of mutation. Sounds scary as this affects the younger generation alot more than the older one so the scare is necessary. Hopefully this one's controlled better so we can remain safe.

Yeah I've heard that the UK has been closed by many countries but the UAE isn't one of them yet, things change overnight here though so that could still happen

With regards to the tanks haha my wife and I have this same agreement. Not a battle I want to try winning haha

I also thought so but here i see a lot of people still going on leave and not too concerned about the virus and the new strains..

I wish we could see some light at the end of the tunnel but at this stage it looks pretty dark
Hope we dont have to go into heavy lock down again i January

Were you sick with Corona related issues or was it something else? Glad you're home and better now. Prayers with you @MariaS
