Female Guppy swims head down.

Hi guys,

I need to pick some brains again.

I've been tasked by the LOML to move 2 of my tanks (or else!) so yesterday I moved the first one.

I siphoned off about half the water into a bucket, moved the filter/pump and heater into the bucket, and then moved the fish into the bucket.

I then drained the rest of the water from the tank, moved the tank to its new place, replaced the hardware, water and fish, topping up the other half with fresh chlorine free water. I made sure the temperature of the fresh water was the same as the tank water (and I didn't just pour the water and fish back into the tank either):idea:

Okay so far, but then one of my female guppies (as Murphy would have it, my favorite one) one started swimming with her head down. Kind of vertically, if you get the picture. Otherwise she looks okay, no lesions, swelling or strange marks, colour good, eating okay.

Could this be as a result of injury during the move, or is it a symptom of some kind of disease? Do you think she'll get better?

Is there anything I can do to treat her?

 

Okay guys, panic over. She's okay!
The research I managed to do on the cause seemed rather vague but from what I managed to piece together, it was either a fatal viral infection, or indigestion from overeating. I quarantined her, and held back on feeding.
Bob's your uncle! After pooping what looks like twice her body weight, she was okay.
She's always been a bit of a bully at feeding time, but I never thought fish suffered indigestion!
