Female Guppy being chased ... a lot

Hi there

We have a female Guppy that looks pregnant, but she's being chased to death by the males. We tried putting her in a separation box but she tried to get back to the others and isn't happy. They all crowd around the box trying to get in so we let her out again.

Is she being stressed by the attention? Can she not give birth because of it?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

 

add more females 3 females to 1 male on small populations are a good ratio.

Thanks Ferdie. Does she look gravid from the photo? (I know it's not a good one, she's a little quick for the camera)

 

Depends when she was last fed .. but if she is she probably still has some way to go

 

looks bout 2 weeks, i agree with @f-fish ratio 1:3 should do it.

Just make sure that you got ample hiding space, and also try getting floating plants with roots in the water, because fry tend to swim up for hiding space at birth.

Also prepare yourself in advance for fry, with crushed fish flakes, or get them micro fry pallets. Thats all im feeding my fry.

Also check nitrate levels, as they can get stunned temp in growth if nitrates gets to high. happened to me with very first batch...
