Female Bettas - Dropsy

Good evening

Hope everyone is well.

A few months ago I purchased 5 female bettas, the shop owner told me one was pregnant as it looked fuller than the others.
I believed the shop owner(it was my first time seeing so many beautiful female betas)
I did have a male, in the tank, he seemed pleased.
I did do some research on YouTube and had seen that you can keep more than one female betta in a tank.
After a month or so, I had seen the male had bloated, I thought it was due to the fact that he would flare up whenever he would past a female, then one day found him floating.
After a month later, the "pregnant" female died, and thereafter the females dropped dead in consecutive days.
Very sad

Hi sorry to hear you had a bad experience, with betta, i haven't kept enough bettas to be knowledgeable on them, you can try and contact https://www.exclusivebetta.co.za/ she is based in KZN and breeds great looking bettas, maybe you can join her whats app group and get more specified information about bettas from her
