Why do you want to go the feeder fish route? Good pellets and frozen food is good enough

You'll be amazed how much they wake up when you add bloodworm to the tank

Look at the Hikari range of pellets for predatory cichlids, very good stuff and the red on my ex Red Tiger came out brilliantly

I agree with the frozen foods. Bloodworms and lance fish will be great for oscars.

I'm also looking for anyone’s spare baby fish, only in CT.
Nirv and I have fish that won't accept pellet food, and we want to vary from frozen foods.

It's not urgent, as we breed our own, but it would be nice to get variety as well as greater numbers to feed them.

hikari is in my opinion the best food for arowana . He will sulk for a few days .dont panik .and when he gets hungry he will take.just make sure its the floating kind .that way his eyes are always uptop and you can try and prevent drop eye

Crickets are always the better option for live food, and any other non-toxic insects really, because they pretty much eliminate the risk of diseases being introduced to the tank.

With regards to the seafoods/prawns/frozen food, try to get the stuff that hasn't been cooked and that hasn't been seasoned. The seasoned food is just plain bad for your fish (can't remember the reason though, I think they can't handle it), and the cooked food... well, you can use it. However, I know that cooking the food takes out some of the nutritional value of the food, and the fish don't go for it as eagerly as they do for non-cooked food.

if you gonna give crickets and your aro is small .pull the legs off .they can get hooked in the stomach and not digest .it swells up effects the swim bladder and your aro dies
i buy my hikari at northgate lfs .my wife always gives my aros a bit of raw fish when she makes dinner.

bud i guess small crickets will be ok just start of slowly 1 or 2 at a time and make sure that boney tongue is doing its job and crushing them .
at the end of day just do what you thinks is best ,im just giving you a worst case senario ,but like salmon said ,flavoured foods are def out.
