Im sorry to but I feel this is a bit overgrown... A competition scape needs to be balanced and tell a story. Its not a competition of who can grow the most plants. If it was that it would be a flower arrangement competition.

As with gardening, there are many styles of scaping... some flower beds have a hand full of plants and some are covered and full of plants... same goes with a fish tank... some have few centre plants and some are full and have a forest type look.
Others are decorated with wood and stones only
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and i think there is a place for all styles.

 

See.... Exactly why I encourage everyone to enter... does not matter WHAT your tank theme is... Enter your bare tank... enter your well planted.... Some members will see beauty in whatever you display and vote for your tank..... Let's get the March Competition going with the widest variety of scapes yet seen... I will make a plan en even enter my Valisneria overgrown 5 footer.... There!!!... that is the challenge for March Competitions!!!

 

Haha do we need to move our tanks or can we simply send pictures.

I have to say, I can't bring myself to have the same diplomacy as everyone else! It's "expert" comments like this, that result in people not submitting their tanks for the TOTM. In stead of criticizing the winner, albeit the only contender, why didn't you submit your "story" and leave it to the members to decide on who they deem the best....

Thanks... it was the easiest competition yet! Thank you for entertaining me and yes, the tank does looks crap. I am very unhappy with it. It needs a lot of work and I will get working on it soon.
