Okay so last night did the last water change of the treatment.
As you can see from pictures he has cleared up well on the head. Still not completely gone and weird grayish sheen.
He is eating well and with the heat wave is crazy aggressive at the moment.
Hope is still to get sample of poo to vet but this has not gone well and I am trying to keep stress at a minimum.
Hopefully next week or two he keeps making improvements.
    Thanks for looking

    That's great @top dog
    So glad he is better
Not sure what your plans are however from what I have learnt over the years the metro should be repeated at least once more at the same dose you did now in 10 days time
    Just maybe check
For example when treating puppies for guiardia it has to be repeated 10 days later

@top dog He is really looking good. Your initial post made go on the hunt for a small tin of metro, which with reluctance I purchased and so now have for a just in case situation. As I only ever once many years ago had to go through this with a Oscar and I dont ever want to struggle again like I did back then and loose the battle. It almost made me quit.

So I am so happy to see your fish looks so good again and I am sure he will be 100% perfect. Its nice to read about a success story like this and gives a old skool fish keeper just a little more trust in modern day medications that are relatively easly available to get these days. Back then it was all sorts of old skool tricks which was why it was so often said that HTH was an instant death sentance because it was believed their was no cure. And of coarse no internet back then.

@MariaS thank you second dose is new to me, will definitely do it. Maybe that is why it never cleared with fist dose.

@David Kusner ended up using the old school trick of metro tabs from pharmacy, and believe they worked far better than pet shop version at 10% of the cost.
still not completely in the clear but signs are looking good

When I was treating Discus for flagellates I also used multiple doses, but I repeated 3 days apart.

I think the time gap between doses is likely to change slightly depending what you treating for
In this case I think I would maybe go with a week?
I will see if I can find anything
