    Hi.
I've been doing some research, and it looks like the only way to raise my guide stocking level sufficiently is to get an external filter. My experience with these is ZERO.

    What are they like?
    How do they function?
What would a decent one cost?

    Any advice welcome.

Madam - your tank is simply to small. No matter what filter you put on your tank will still be to small.... sorry to say....
