I am looking for a fish that lives for quite a long time, rare and can live in a 90gallon tank, I was thinking about a polypterus senagalus aka the bichir

    For a 90 gallon/340l, for life?

@Thomas Tim , are you getting bigger tank eventully or you looking for something that can live forever in the 90 gallon?

If you are going to get a bigger tank.. min 1.8m.. you can consider some of the fish @Bradley Bunch mentioned
If you going to keep them in a 1.2m tank, none of the exotic fish mentioned above are suitable

Maybe have a read through the thread @Bradley Bunch had going a few days ago regarding all those fiah.. a lot of advice was given there.....

Out of this only the saddled (delhezi) bichir and rope fish are suitable. Those morays are likely brackish

Btw there are over 20 variants and species of bichir. Only 5 are suitable for a tank that size and senegals are the most common, definitely unusual

Depends, 180x60x60 is 180 gallons. Don't look at the gallonage, look at the footprint
